Computerised Services For Monorail Users etc
Free Services
Available Now
Open Forums
We host Freely
Subscribable Public Mail List[s]
Our forum[s] aim to promote discussion of European
monorail ventures & ancillary technologies, raising
public consciousness of monorail systems, allowing the
investing & travelling public etc, a direct interchange
of views, additional to the limited private conversations
of financially involved project companies, funding
authorities, & politicians. Raised awareness of
monorail systems & projected ventures will enhance the
monorail business sector, thus also growing the ancillary
services sector too.
This is only available for tech savvy people who can
cope with mail driven subscription robots. Sorry, but we have no free time to
support those not competent to handle the
subscription system unassisted.

Later we plan to add a WIKI, & possibly IRC, (if you
don't know what they are, please don't ask us, we're busy !
Wait till we add them
Commercial Services
Available Now
- Computer Consultancy
& Services. We welcome enquiries from those who
want to purchase consultancy for computerised services for
monorail business environments, etc. We use Free Software to base
our work on. We never use Microsoft software. Low costs
help us be competitive. We don't catch viruses.
-
Transport Consultancy for city route planning,
innovative solutions etc. Enquiries are welcome: We forward
them free to appropriate friendly transport
consultants.

Services we may develop & possibly operate too (or spin
off) include such as: interface & integration of
automated actual arrival alerts, PDA, GPS, taxi onward
pre-booking systems, private bus to monorail automatic
synchronisation to optimise local bus driver revenues by
arrivals etc. (Many services are operable with or without
the co-operation of monorail operators, using a variety of
different technologies, (that we choose not to disclose).
The importance of independence being no monorail operator
can attempt to squeeze excess revenue from. force a buy out
of, or in any way impact 3rd part supplementary services,
so our & your business models are safe from policy
swings by monorail operator management, whether triggered
by corporate greed, shareholder pressure, or public
ownership political pressure).
OUR AIMS
WHAT WE PLAN TO DEVELOP
- Computer based services for monorail users etc in
large metropolises in Europe.
- New services for new private business sectors that
will emerge with monorails.
- New communications oriented services for the free
market beyond monolithic rail system operators
themselves.
- Spin off services for individual travellers, parts
suppliers, service providers, investors, owners, tenants
& users of public & private land under & near
rail routes etc, for those with an interest in monorails,
commercial, legal, ecological, sociological, etc.
WHAT WE PLAN _NOT_ TO DO
- We don't install monorail systems - Others do that
- We don't expect to operate our own commercial
services, after introductory phase ! It takes different
people to run a service than to develop them, our
preference is development, & we expect buy outs as
markets expand & others are keener to run &
extend developed technologies.
- We don't expect to supply to monorails themselves:
either planners won't yet have funds to pay for our
developments, of operators will be large, possibly
burdened by public purchase tender procedures, &
certainly in markets where there'll be just one buyer
(the single monorail operator in whichever large
metropolis).

Monorails Are A Future Inevitability
- Monorails in large metropolises such as London are an
economic & ecological inevitability.
- Who builds them, quite when & where they are built
& by who doesn't concern us, but built they will be,
Congestion they will solve, & cheaper they will be than
any alternative, so they're inevitable, Just a question of
which large metropolis wakes up first.
- The main monorail transport projects themselves will be
very expensive, totally out of our league as a self
financing computer development company, (albeit monorails
themselves will still be far cheaper & better than
installing more underground or light railways etc).
Monorails Will Create New Ancillary Services Markets
- We aim to offer extra supplemental services operators
can't or won't provide, or over price etc. Many, most or
all of those services will be partly or entirely `virtual'
ie computer/ mobile phone/ PDA related.
- (When if ever did you hear of investors or travellers
all being happy with the services or even information a
transport operator provides ;-)
- Extra services will be required by the public,
regardless what any transport operator says !
- We do not plan to install monorails etc, but instead to
provide the inevitable supplementary value added
independent services that will be required by the users
& investors of the coming generation of metropolitan
monorails,
- Such as mail web & wap etc enabled critiques,
warnings, maps, timetables, PDA interfaces,
technical/financial analysis, shareholder & investor
contact forums, Subscribable traveller delay alert systems,
special offer price alerts etc for various monorail
operators etc.
- Coms. services & forums for various monorail
engineering project investors, creditors, debtors,
customers & even promotion services & complaints
analysis for customers. eg: If you twist your foot &
they offer you 50 pound compensation, won't you pay our
search engine 5 pound to know J Smith of Orpington got 80
pound off them for His twisted foot ?)
- For a much bigger better list of monorails go here: www.monorails.org The
Monorail Society.
The rest of this section is just odd notes on a few
projects.
- monometro.com have
an interesting scheme for London. A light overhead metal
rail, cheaply & quickly installed.
(We terminated their free domain
hosting after problems with their owner, but their
teams' transport ideas may be appreciated, regardless which
leading individual first pushed their scheme. - The
successful German Autobahn is not judged by the merits of
its founder's personality. Their 8 Meg video
simulation was sold to them by surfacevision.com, who we
introduced & domain host.
- monorail.com.my
- In Malaysia. A concrete rail
under the carriage.Looks to be about 25% or 35% of carriage
width ? (On their 15M video sequence). Looks maybe a bit
easier to build than a really wide concrete track (eg Las
Vegas I recall) &/or Gatwick Airport (really a wide
concrete track with double metal rail (IMO Gatwick is just
a short slow twin conventional metal rail raised on
concrete stilts).
- structurae.net
- Kuala Lumpur Monorail - German
page showing concrete rails up close. 2 massive rail
section slightly higher than the workman in blue
trousers, green jacket & red hat.
- Las Vega
Monorails A short 4 mile route, for 14 mins @ up to 50
MPH. Opening Summer 2004 [on clunky concrete sections I
recall - or is that somewhere else in USA ? ] My web
browser doesn't show me: This site needs shockwave on its
front page. Dumb choice ! Not everyone runs a
Microsoft-Virused operating systems that support shockwave
annoyance. Shockwave should be an option on a sub page, not
cripple the front page & make it partly invisible if
the viewer doesn't have or want shockwave.
www.monorails.org
Gives different stats:1.2 km, 2 stations, Opened 1995.
- Unido H
Bahn, Overhead rail, (same ugly horizontals as in
Dusseldorf).
- Pictures
of the 100 year old (metal overhead rail) German
Schwebebahn & monometro.com press clipping etc
- Know of more European monorails in use or planning ?
Please send
URLs, or short info, Thanks
Know of monorails that want extra computerised ancillary
services ? & have the money to fund it ? & want a
cheaper solution based on us using as much free public source code as
possible, to implement their system on top of in minimum time
at minimum cost ?
Then both I
& my associates would be very interested to hear
from you.
